This is the second book in the Oslo trilogy although one wonders if it is the 3rd or 4th book written in the series, actually it all depends where you source your information. The order in which you read them is somewhat irrelevant, they have not been translated in the same order they were originally written. 'Nemesis' is a thrilling, gripping and brilliant thriller, a bit lengthy but well worth the time.

Although the book started off great and had me hooked, for me, it started to go downhill after a few chapters. I found myself searching for another read. I am glad I didn't. Phew! Results of fiddling around on this computer:

Open SUSE was a complete failure on this computer and it installed badly. I do not like their YaST installer and it made installing another system difficult as my computer would only boot from the Hard Disk and not the CD. The work around was to change the BIOS advanced settings so that the 1st boot option was the CD drive.

Fedora boots in around 30 seconds but I can't get the disk management package to work so I can't format a USB memory stick.

The Debian iso is on the Team memory stick.

How to copy .iso to USB stick (under Linux):

fdisk -l will list your USB drive - usually /dev/sdx ("x" representing letter like sda, sdb etc.), double check with dmesg.

This Lubuntu on my desktop at the moment displays "Input not supported" when I turn this computer on. However within just 30 seconds the LXDE desktop is displayed and ready for action. That never happened with Windows 7 and this is a big improvement. I may stay with Lubuntu if nothing else can beat it.

- System Recovery discs can be created by going to the Recovery Center of the system. The whole process takes 4 DVDs and about 1 hour. In case you have some problem with your system, with the help of the recovery disks, you can go back to the original state of the system when it was brand new. All the problems will be solved for sure, but the data will be lost. So, care must be taken to take a backup.

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) has issued speed enforcement policy guidance, which suggests that enforcement will normally occur when a driver exceeds the speed limit by a particular margin. This is normally 10 per cent over the speed limit plus 2 mph. It also sets guidelines for when it would not be appropriate to issue a fixed penalty notice but to issue a summons instead (see below). Did a bodge on the kitchen sink today. Last night the plug pulled up the drain grill breaking the locking bolt and letting water leak down onto the cabinet below. Went to B&Q and got the wrong size replacement. Found a plastic bolt and lock nut off a broken toilet seat bracket in our garage which fitted. Got refund of £6.39 on the unused B&Q part with no problem. Quite a relief all in all.

We had some great feedback from yesterdays "call-a-thon" :-) A lot of Members asked: If I have already signed and sent back the NIP, is it too late or can you still help me? The answer is... it's NOT too late! By signing the NIP, you have nominated the name of the Driver/Rider (usually yourself) at the time of the alleged offence. You have NOT admitted that the offence happened. Although it's better if you haven't sent back the NIP at the point where we get involved, it's not the end of the world if you have because we can still challenge whether or not the offence happened by looking at things such as procedural errors, road furniture compliance, calibration and so on.

Therefore if I ever get a NIP about the A40 speed camera going into London I MUST point out there is no 40mph sign on the kerbside only on the central reservation.
